The hall was originally built in 1948. It has undergone refurbishments over the years, including one in 1980. It was recently refurbished in 2002 thanks to sponsorship from North Herts District Council, Mid Beds District Council, Biffaward and numerous donations and contributions from the residents of Hinxworth and Edworth. The building work was carried out by Conamar Building Services - Stevenage.
The village hall is managed by the Hinxworth and Edworth Village Hall Committee. The hall is run as a "not for profit charity" (Charity Number: 302397) and all income and proceeds go into the running and maintenance of the hall. The Village Hall Management Committee raised funds for a new kitchen which was completed in April 2018.
